Students of the Department of Travel Business take part in the International Travel Market "Ukraine–2013".
On October 23, 2013, the International exhibition center on Brovarsyi Avenue held an opening of the Ukraine International Travel Market – 2013. The organizers of the exposition were the ITE Group Plc. (Great Britain) and the Premier Expo (Ukraine). This is one of the biggest tourism exhibitions in Ukraine traditionally held in October and gaining more and more recognition among the experts in travel business from Ukraine, the CIS and far abroad.
The Anniversary 20th Ukraine International Travel Market – 2013, UITM–2013, presented national travel organizations and tourism-related areas from more than 40 countries. The participation geography of the main travel event of the fall is quite diverse and covers tourism-related areas from all over the world: Austria, Argentina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Hungary, Vietnam, Ghana, Greece, Georgia, Dominican Republic, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, India, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Cyprus, Cuba, Maldives, Netherlands, Palestine, Peru, Poland, Russia, Seychelles, Slovakia, USA, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, Chile, Sri Lanka and other countries. Over 300 travel companies, tour operators, national and local travel associations and organizations, hotels, transport agencies, insurance agencies participated in this year’s travel market.
One of the key topics of the exhibition will be culinary tourism. Culinary tours offer acquaintance with museums and historical monuments combined with pleasure form savoring of local cuisine. Culinary tourism has been in the limelight particularly in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Cyprus as well as representatives of Ukraine as Lviv and the Transcarpathian region.
Ethnic, green and national tourism is offered by most Ukrainian travel companies. Ukrainian regions, both municipalities and trading companies, are actively engaged in developing the inbound tourism exposition.
Numerous events offering winter and exotic recreation have been planned. Travel companies and agencies of both outbound and inbound tourism book conference halls to hold their own workshops for professionals in the market.
It should also be mentioned that medical tourism as an area in the field has become more popular over the last few years. This made the organizers of the travel market singe it out into a separate exhibition b2b-project, aimed at both tourism industry professionals and experts in the medical field. The opening of the new exhibition “Medical Tourism. Kyiv” was held in alliance with the UITM–2013 and the exhibition “Health Protection–2013”.
