The Meeting-Discussion with Eastern Partnership Program Representatives

Karazin University has held a meeting with nine representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the European Union member states participating in the Eastern Partnership program with Ukraine.

The discussion took place with Vice-President Zarif Nazyrov, the Head of International Activity Organization, Oleksandr Fadieiev. The IER and TB faculty members and students were also actively participating in the discussion.

“The Eastern Partnership program was initiated in 2009 as a special area within the European Neighborhood Policy uniting six Eastern EU neighboring countries. Such bilateral cooperation is based on common values, namely democracy, and supremacy of law. Its major results are political association, creation of a free trade zone, visa regime liberalization for the project participants”, pointed out the Head of the Section "EU External Relations with Eastern Europe, the Southern Caucasus and Central Asia", the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Pamela Preusche.

The participants pointed out the positive changes in Ukraine that occurred during the year, and shared the experience of their countries as to becoming an EU member-state.The discussion also addressed the prospects of Ukraine in joining the EU, the visa regime liberalization and the role of the young generation in these processes.
