Europe in a Suitcase: Meeting with Experts on Educational Opportunities Abroad

Karazin University has held a meeting of its students with experts from Germany, Poland and Ukraine intended to encourage European dialog with Ukraine. The meeting took place within the International German-Polish-Ukrainian project "Europe in a Suitcase" realized together with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Institute for Euro-Atlantic Cooperation, the European Academy Berlin and the Polish Robert Schuman Foundation.

According to Andreas Keiser, Johanna Krupadzorov, Julia Eigofer, Machey Zanevich, Polina Sulima, Ruslan Kermach and Anton Pisarenko the attendees learnt about the educational opportunities for Ukrainian students abroad, the existing exchange programs, grants and scholarships, projects, startups and innovations. The participants also found out about the principles of federal education in Germany, discussed the interuniversity partnerships, the European Voluntary Service (EVS), the Bologna process fundamentals, and addressed the human rights protection issues and students’ attitude to today’s political and economic problems.

The experts emphasized the necessity to coordinate the efforts of Ukrainian and European youth to ensure successful integration of Ukraine into the European space. They also stressed the importance of Ukrainians’ ideas of Europe and the public opinion about Ukraine amog the people of EU countries.
