Karazin University is a Participant in the Consortium of the University of Warsaw and Ukrainian Universities

Karazin University delegation comprising Director of the Center for International Cooperation O. O. Shapovalova and Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine L. Yu. Posokhova participated in the XI Conference of the Consortium of the University of Warsaw and Ukrainian Universities held at Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University (Lutsk) on September 5-6, 2013.

The conference was attended by the presidents of the universities participating in the Concortium, namely ProfessorMartin Palis (University of Warsaw), Professor Serhii Kvit (National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”), Professor Ihor Pasichnyk (National University “Ostroh Academy”), Professor Ihor Kotsan (Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University), Director of T. H. Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and Lesya Ukrainka Research Institute Mykola Zhulynskyi, Director of the Center for Eastern Studies, Professor Jan Malitski and representatives of diplomatic corps of Poland and Ukraine.

The conference touched upon the current state of the Eastern Studies program in Ukraine and discussed propositions from the universities participating in the Consortium as to its further development. The meeting resulted in agreements on expansion of academic mobility quotas for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students of Karazin University under the Eastern Studies program and a decision was made that in 2014 University students would participate in the work of the Student Summer School based in Hart Camp of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University as well as in the Second Student Eastern Conference hosted by the National University “Ostroh Academy”. Anna Kuzma, Adviser to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Ukraine for Education and Science confirmed their readiness to invite lecturers from leading universities of Poland to Karazin University.

The conference also approved the decisions as to holding next conferences of Consortium of the University of Warsaw and Ukrainian Universities at National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (April, 2014) and at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (October, 2014).

At the Conference Karazin University was awarded a commendation of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University for its outstanding contribution to cooperation development in the fields of education and science.
