Karazin University holds the III place in the Top 200 Ukraine Ranking of Higher Educational Institutions by the results for the 2015/2016 academic year.
The ranking methodology is drawn up by the UNESCO Department “Higher Technical Education, Applied System Analysis and Informatics” at the National Technical University of Ukraine Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, conforms to the international principles of university ranking, and consists in conducting comparative analysis of the achievements of higher educational institutions of various types based on a number of universal criteria. The aforementioned methodology evaluates the performance of the institution using the aggregate indicator (integrated index) based on the direct measurement indicator (80%), expert evaluation of graduates’ quality by employers and the academic community (15%), and the use of the international scientometric and web-metric data (5%). The integrated index is calculated based on the following three components: quality of the faculty potential, academic process, and international recognition.
This year, there has been introduced a new criterion“University's Innovative Activity”. It was measured by the scope of business investments to the university's startups, i.e. the projects that are in demand on the consumer market in different fields of science (agriculture, biology, the Humanities, medicine, etc.), including the cutting-edge technical soltions.
The I place is awarded to the National Technical University of Ukraine Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and the II place — to Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
