Regional Travel Practice

Regional Travel Practice

Within the framework of their regional travel practice second-year students of the Department of Travel Business visited Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk.

During the sightseeing trip about the city our students learnt a lot of interesting facts from the history of Zaporizhzhia and its outskirts. Besides the picturesque architectural ensemble the city impresses with its grand beauty – DniproHES (Dnieper Hydroelectric Station), and the Khortytsia Island of Zaporizhian Cossacks – the heart of Zaporizhian Sich, homeland of the Cossacks. Visiting the reservation museum “Khortytsia”, the students got a clear image of the lifestyle, customs and traditions of Zaporizhian Cossacks. An unforgettable impression was left by the exhibition “Cossacks’ Martial Art” acquainting our students with various weapons and defense and attack manuals. At the end of the trip the students visited the Museum of Weapons presenting examples of weapons of different nations.

The second city to visit was Dnipropetrovsk. In the Painting Museum in Halushkivka khutor the students touched the source of their native Ukrainian culture. Thanks to the regional travel practice they learnt a lot of new and interesting things about the history of Ukraine.
