The student of the Department of Travel Business Dmytro Hedriakov has returned from studies at the Grand Valley State University (USA)

Since the beginning of 2016 the 4th year student of the Department of Travel Business Dmytro Hedriakov was at the Grand Valley State University (Allendale, Michigan, USA) with educational and cultural purpose. During four months he had the opportunity to study the profession-oriented subjects and to promote the intercultural dialog along with the American students. Having recieved the grant from the US State Department, in the end of 2015 Dmytro took the preparation distance course, created to develop the professional and leadership skills, and after the arrival to the host University he decided to try himself as an "active citizen", a part of which concept is based on the active social position, where every social problem is considered as a dual system of "rights and obligations", and where the essential participation in the community requires the constant search of the social problems' solution. Volunteering is an essential step on the way to the integration in the local community. Dmytro had been working on such acute modern American society problems as the problem of the illegal immigrants and refugees. Together with the group of American students, he had worked as a volonteer in non-profit organization called "Jewish Vocational Services" in Kansas City, Missouri. During this out visiting practice he had an opportunity to study the mechanism of the migrants anf refugees' resettlement in the US and to communicate with such families.

While answering the questions about the most positive and negative impressions of the States, Dmytro came to the conclusion that the most terrible thing for him was the longlasting winter in Michigan and the hidden taxes. Most of all, he enjoyed the trip to Washington, and also he had got the favorable impression from the style of American University teaching and the sport entertaining activities on campus.
