Faculty and students of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business of Karazin University participated in the Euroschool II programme of diplomatic traineeship “Italy: Art of Cultural Diplomacy” and stayed in Rome, Italy on March 21-25, 2016 where they visited public governmental, non-governmental and educational institutions of the country.
While meeting with diplomats and experts, the delegates got an insight into the role of Italy in the G7, the country’s priorities in the foreign policy in the European Union and how they currently see their cooperation with Ukraine in terms of European integration.
The students learnt the country’s leading practices in the sphere of cultural diplomacy abroad, namely the mechanisms of realizing projects called on to spread Italian culture, language, art and music in the world.
The meeting in the Embassy of Ukraine in Italy was of special interest for the students, for it offered them a chance to look into the cooperation priorities and receive practical advice as to how to become a successful diplomat.
The students also participated in the debate with their colleagues from Roma Tre University, developing skills of negotiation's holding and statment of their personal point of view concerning current issues of international relations.
This visit to Italy was accompanied by a broad historical and cultural program, within the framework of which the delegates visited the Presidential Palace, Vatican City, Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon and other sights.
