Professor of Economics Meeta Keswani Mehra’ Lecture

On May 8, 2013 Karazin University, under the aegis of the Ukrainian-Indian Academic Center and the Embassy of India in Ukraine, hosted a lecture by the famous Indian researcher in Economics, Doctor of Economics Meeta Keswani Mehra. The public lecture on Indian Economy in the World was held in the University Main Building (room 2-49).

The lecture hall was full half an hour before the beginning. Students and faculty of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business, the School of Economics, the School of History and the School of Ecology were looking forward to hearing Ms. Mehra. The lecture was also attended by the Second Secretary of the Embassy of India in Ukraine A. Verma, Director of the Center for International Cooperation O. Shapovalova and Director of BobTrade Education Group S. Kaushik.

During the lecture Ms. Mehra told the audience about the history of development and peculiarities of the making of Indian economy as one of the most dynamic in the world. She also outlined the main achievements, problems and prospects of the Indian economy development, providing numerous concrete examples to help better understand the main ideas touched upon in the lecture. The lecture was followed by a heated discussion with students actively asking questions gladly answered by Ms. Mehra.

For reference. Meeta Keswani Mehra is a professor in Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University (Delhi, India). The scientist reads courses in Growth Theory, Environmental Economics and Innovation Economics, taught a course in Resource Economics for postgraduates of the University of Advanced Studies (TERI University, Delhi, India). Meeta Keswani Mehra’s areas of scientific interest are International Trade, Environmental Management Economics, Political Economics of Regulation and Environmental-Economic Modelling.
