Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina in Ukraine Visiting Karazin University

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic in Ukraine, Lila Roldan Vazquez de Muan, has visited Karazin University. She had a meeting with Karazin University Vice-President Zarif Nazyrov, the Director of the Center for International Cooperation, Olena Shpovalova, and the Head of the International Activity Organization Department, Oleksandr Fadieiev, where they discussed the prospects of further cooperation between Ukraine and Argentina and strengthening of cultural relations between the two countries.

The Ambassador also gave a lecture ‘The Malvinas Islands Question’ for the University students. The event was attended by members of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of International Economic Relations and TB: SSS Chairman Loktionova Marina, Marina Bykov Deputy Chairman and the freshmen.

"Despite the fact that Ukraine and Argentina are separated by 15,000 kilometers, our nations have a lot in common: we are proud of our Motherland, have rich culture, are distinguished by the ability to achieve results at minimum monetary expenses relying only on our brain and imagination, which allows our countries to develop particularly nuclear energy, pharmacy and healthcare. Moreover, the Argentine Republic has a numerous Ukrainian diaspora."

The lecture acquainted the audience with the Malvinas Islands, particularly focusing on the disputed territory, the right to own which is claimed by Argentina and Great Britain, and outlining the historical milestones in the conflict.

Ms. de Muan also told those present about the educational opportunities in Argentina for Ukrainian students pointing out that Argentina and Ukraine have an agreement on mutual recognition of higher education documents.
