Open World Program

Open World Program

Yevhen Hryhorenko, Associate Professor of the Department of International Law of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was on a business trip in New York (USA) and in Washington, DC (USA). The trip was organized under the aegis of the Open World Leadership Center within the framework of the Open World Program and took place on October 24 through November 2, 2014.

The purpose of the trip was to get acquainted with public monitoring of judges and studying American experience in ensuring the supremacy of law.

During the stay in the United Stated Mr. Hryhorenko had meetings with the justices of the Supreme Court of New York, the Permanent Mission of Ukraine at the UN, representatives of the public organizations that exercise monitoring of the police and judges in the State of New York; participated in the meetings with scientists, congressmen and American journalists.

Besides, the Open World Program participants visited the Library of Congress, Sing Sing Correctional Facility, Mercy College, and other institutions.
