Presenting Karazin School of Modern Ukrainian Studies

On November 3, 2014 Karazin University held a presentation of the English speaking project Karazin School of Modern Ukrainian Studies.

Its organizers are Director of the Center for International Cooperation Olena Shapovalova, Director of the Center for Web Communications Maksym Folomieiev, Head of the Department of Civil and Legal Disciplines of the School of Law Iryna Venediktova, Associate Dean of the School of Sociology Olha Huzhva.

“We got an idea to create a school where we could invite interesting people from all over the world so that they could share what they think about present-day Ukraine, the pressing problems and possible solutions. All the reporters will be speaking English thus enabling Ukrainian students to practise the language while engaging foreign students in the work of the school,” pointed out Olena Shapovalova.

Nowadays the project is being carried out on the base of three Schools: School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business, School of Sociology and School of Law. Moreover, in future the school is expected to expand to also involve representatives of the School of History and the School of Philosophy.

The first lectures will be given by the former member of the Council of Europe Reiner Ruge and representative of the European Commission Olivier Vedrine and held on November 5.
