Lecture on Employment

Lecture on Employment

The Department of Travel Business of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business organized a public lecture given by the famous Professor of the Business & Hotel Management School (Switzerland) Magdy Attalla and entitled “Modern Ways of Successful Employment”.

“There are three main questions to be answered before starting to look for a job: ‘what kind of job are you looking for?’ ‘what financial goals are you pursuing?’ and ‘is it worth investing in trainings?’. If you cannot answer them, it will be hard for you to find a job,” said Magdy Attalla.

Within the lecture framework the participants learnt about the main steps on the way to finding a decent job and received useful advice as to compiling a CV and behaving at interviews, etc.

The lecturer stressed the importance of presence in social media, particularly professional ones (e.g. LinkedIn), and extension of the contact range: “The most common way of job hunting In Europe is through references. You can search for a job all around the world, but you should not forget that 10 % of your contacts in the phone directory can be your potential employers.”
