VI International Research-to-Practice Conference “Travel business: World trends and national priorities”

Karazin University hosted the International research-to-practice conference “Travel business: World trends and national priorities” uniting specialists in tourism from Russia and Ukraine.

The conference organizer was the Department of Travel Business of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The Presidium consisted of Dean of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business, Candidate of Economics, Full Professor V. I. Sydorov, founder and Full Professor of the Department of Travel Business, Doctor of Geography, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher School of Ukraine A. P. Holikov, Director of Kharkiv Regional Tourism Information Center D. H. Darmostuk and Head of the Department of Travel Business, Candidate of History, Associate Professor A. Yu. Parfimenko.

According to Professor V. I. Sydorov, “today’s conference is a another step on the way of developing travel business as science. With the tourism sphere expanding, the demand for highly qualified specialists increases. The conference enables us to exchange our achievements. It’s time to discuss problems of development of tourism-related sciences. We are to have not only Masters of Tourism, but also doctors and professors. This is our goal and we are heading to achieve it.”

The conference began with a presentation of the topical issue of the All-Ukrainian popular science journal “Universitates” presented by Executive Director of the Association of Alumni, Faculty and Friends of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University V. V. Kruhlova.

The following sections were working within the conference framework: “Regional peculiarities of travel services market development”, convener — Candidate of History, Associate Professor A. Yu. Parfimenko; “”Travel Business through the eyes of young researchers”, conveners — Candidate of Geography, Full Professor S. O. Yurchenko and Teacher of the Department of Travel Business I. N. Shamara.
