The First Meeting of the Scientific Council of Tourism and Resorts of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in Ukraine
The first (constituent) meeting of the Scientific Council of Tourism and Resorts of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in Ukraine took place on May 30rd, 2016.
The Scientific Council includes 34 representatives, in particular, famous scientists in sphere of travel business problems from scientific research institutes and higher educational establishments from almost every region of Ukraine: the Head of the Department of Tourism and Recreations, prof. T.I. Tkachenko; Head of the Country Studies and Tourism Department of the Faculty of Geography of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, prof. O.O. Lubizeva; Head of the Travel Business Department of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University Assoc. A.Y. Parfinenko.
According to the results, the main directions of activity of the Scientific Council were formed, and the organizational structure of the institution was proposed, the sections to solve the most urgent and priority issues for sustainable development of tourism and resorts in Ukraine were formed by subject areas of science, the work plan of the Scientific Council for the current 2016 was approved and the current activity issues were discussed.
The most heated discussions were brought by the proposed for the approval draft of the programme strategic document - "Strategy of tourism and resortsdevelopment in the terms of 2016-2020."
