A group of students of the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University have completed the "Lithuania: history of successful choice" Euroschool diplomatic internship program on 16-20 June 2015. This study course was being arranged in coordination with the Embassy of Lithuania to Ukraine and Embassy of Ukraine to Lithuania.
Prior to the visit to Vilnius the students have attended the Museum of Ukrainian diplomatic service’s history and met with Marijus Janukonis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to Ukraine.
During this education course the students have participated in working meetings and activities held at the Parliament of Lithuania, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, International Division of Vilnius City Administration, Europe Information Center and Embassy of Ukraine to Lithuania.
From experienced public officials and members of the diplomatic corps they have learned about the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council, priorities of Ukrainian and Lithuanian economic and trade cooperation, mechanisms of investment climate improvement, as well as extended their knowledge in foreign policies, EU integration processes and international affairs on central and local level.
Students of Karazin University have also gotten acquainted with practical aspects of commercial attache services and other diplomatic missions abroad including execution of the functions of the NATO contact point by the Embassy of Lithuania to Ukraine in 2015-2016.
The closing event of the five-day programme was held at the International Business School of Vilnius University where the students were being awarded the certificates of the Euroschool successful completion.
Education visit to Lithuania also included broad historical and cultural program.
