Karazin University was visited by the famous polish scientist, economist, politician and reformer Leszek Balcerowicz. One of the items on the agenda was a ceremony of awarding Professor L. Balcerowicz the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

Students and faculty from 32 higher educational institutions of Kharkiv marched across the largest square in the city with representatives of Karazin University headed by its President Vil Bakirov among them.
